Today—well, it’s Friday, April 4th as I’m writing this, just before midnight—a large-scale photography exhibition has started in Yokohama. It’s a public exhibition, mainly focused on black-and-white photography, and will run for three days. Two of my new friends are showcasing their work there, and a few others I know—some who came to my solo exhibition in Kyoto last year, and some I’m connected with on Instagram—are also participating.
I left work a bit early today and made it to the venue about an hour or two before closing. I didn’t get to see all the works yet, but I met up with my two friends, we had dinner and talked a lot. We shared our hopes and dreams—things we’d love to try, challenges we want to take on—not just about photography, but also games and all sorts of other stuff. It was a wonderful time, and I’m truly grateful.
Somewhere along the way, we ended up saying, “Let’s enter a contest together!” (…Am I really ready for this? Haha.)
If you’ve got time this weekend, I highly recommend checking it out!
